Order Maasai Beaded Jewelry and Support Esiteti School
One-of-a-kind handmade pieces were lovingly crafted by the Maasai mothers of Esiteti School. ASK is donating 100% of the money raised through the sale of this jewelry to support their community. The Maasai make beaded jewelry primarily for personal adornment. Maasai beadworkers, exclusively women, create colorful necklaces, armlets, anklets, headbands, and earrings. They also stitch beads onto clothing and containers such as gourds for storing milk. The amount, colors, and types of beadwork that the Maasai people wear reflect their status and age grade—from youths to senior elders—and the distribution of beads reflects the sharing of wealth and power.
