Josphat Ngonyo

Josphat NgonyoJosphat Ngonyo is the founder of both Youth for Conservation and Africa Network for Animal Welfare. His family, hunters turned ardent conservationists, has worked to protect the wildlife in Tsavo East National Park since 1948. He was the first to carry out formal de-snaring and anti-poaching patrol work, as well as community education and youth involvement in conservation and animal activities. His major achievements include winning the prestigious Eastern Africa Environmental Leadership Award in 2003 and the Middle East Animal Welfare Award in 2007. Read more about the story of ANAW.
